Blockwork

Blockwork is a technique of creating a stone block effect, but without the weight of stone. This technique is equally suitable for internal and external application.

What is more, a skilled craftsman can create variation of color and texture between individual blocks, reflecting the variations found in natural stone block walls. This technique is the ultimate Seamless Stone® Wall Finish effect.

The reveal board on the left shows 5 different variations of the types of reveals that are commonly used with our Seamless Stone® Wall Finish product line to accentuate the different sizes of stone blocks.

Reveal #1 Butt Joint - Commonly used for the separation of stone blocks that are stacked on top of each other without the use of a mortar joint. The final effect well show a different variation in the thickness of the stone blocks.

Reveal #2 Grove - Also used for the separation of stone blocks stacked on tap of each other without the use of a mortar joint. The final effect will show the stone blocks flush with each other separated by the V groove.

Reveal #3 Metal Reveals - To achieve a natural look using large blocks of stone, these metal reveals typically vary in size from 1/4 to 4 inches wide. They are used to recreate the look achieved when metal is used to reinforce walls to support the extreme weight of stone. The final finish of the reveal can be left as metal or painted.

Reveal #4 1/2-inch Mortar Joint - The mortar joint material is made from stone products creating a natural mortar joint finish. The mortar materials can be matched to any color of your choosing.

Reveal #5 1/4-inch Mortar Joint - The mortar joint material is made from stone products creating a natural mortar joint finish. The Mortar materials can be matched to any color of your choosing.
